We operate a progressive squad structure. Swimmers in the younger squads develop their stroke technique, improve their stamina and speed, whilst working towards achieving ASA Speed Awards at regular time trials. The criteria are based on the recommendations of the Long Term Athlete Development Programme (LTAD). Additionally, a standard time for our distance test sets has been put in place for Potential Development and Performance squads to ensure that squad members have the necessary endurance to cope with the training load.

Squad Criteria 2016
Each of the squad pages detail the minimum requirements for that squad. All moves will be by approval of the Head Coach. If a squad is full, movement into the squad will be restricted and at the discretion of the Head Coach.
All swimmers must be prepared to represent the club at four (4) Open Meet Competitions a year, compete at Club Championships, County, Regional and National events if the times are secured.
Whilst the overall squad criteria have not changed significantly, these will now be monitored and enforced more closely with regard to attendance at training and galas, performance and training ethic. There will be movement between the squads when criteria are not met.
If you do not feel that you can meet the criteria for your squad/new squad, you should inform the Head Coach immediately.
